We know how important reporting speed is to our customers. That’s why we put a lot of time and energy into making sure our engines are as fast and efficient as possible.
How well is that effort paying off? You can see for yourself in the latest “Windward Engine Performance Scorecard,” which has been updated for the recent release of version 14.
Yep, it’s still super fast.
You shouldn’t be surprised to hear that our Engines have only gotten faster and more efficient.
For this latest version of the Windward Engine, we tested the performance by creating a report 50 times and averaging the result. We tested both the .NET and Java Engines, on multiple data sources at 1, 4 and 16 thread counts.
When generating reports in a single thread, our results ranged from 1 to 6 pages per second. Using 16 threads with the same reports boosted performance to 5 to 31 pages per second. With that kind of speed you can accomplish even more than before, quickly.
You can download the full scorecard right here or from our product pages. Feel free to share it with your colleagues, and we’ll continue to update it with each new major upgrade.
Want to run this performance test yourself?
We’ve made it easy to follow the testing procedures and try it yourself. I recommend you run the Windward performance tests on your own target system in order to get the most accurate results.
We have embedded this testing code inside the Windward Engine, and you can find out more on how to run this Performance Analysis Test on the Windward Documentation Wiki.
